After a disappointing attempt at securing a run in Las Vegas, Motown's premier all-white group, The Chalk-Tones, have landed a long-term gig appearing twice a week at Southern California's Bakersfield Municipal Court Building. They will be leading a DMV-approved Traffic School course for traffic violation offenders, teaching the rules of the road with rhythm and soul.
"There's no place we'd rather be," said surviving member Lewis Feld, "we came from the suburbs just outside the Motor City, so we see teaching Traffic School as kind of a full-circle tribute to the city we grew up adjacent to."
By participating in the course, offenders may reduce the points on their records, and gain a free 12" record by The Chalk-Tones that features all the hits from the course, including "Hands-Free," "Divided Highway," and "Don't Leave Your Baby (In the Car)."
